Tip #21 | Join a Pace Team and Get into Corrals Early

Welcome back to our annual “26 Tips for 26.2 Miles” blog series. For the 26 days leading up to race day, athletes and spectators can get daily tips to make the most of OUR race. There will be four corrals on race day, with each athlete assigned a corral based on their estimated finish time. Athletes will need to enter the start area at the “Athlete Only” signs at the intersection of Neil and Spring Streets and make their way to their corral. Athletes can learn their bib number and corral by visiting our RTRT app!
Looking for an extra “boost” on race day? We are thrilled to welcome back the Striding Sliders Pace Team, sponsored by White Castle! Pace teams will be offered for the following finish times:
½ Marathon: 1:30, 1:35, 1:40, 1:45, 1:50, 1:55, 2:00, 2:15, 2:30, 2:45 and 3:00
Full Marathon: 3:00, 3:10, 3:20, 3:30, 3:40, 3:50, 4:00, 4:15, 4:30, 4:45, 5:00 and 5:30
What’s a pace team you ask? Pace teams are groups of runners with a shared time goal, led by an experienced runner who controls the pace for that set time and offers encouragement along the way. Our Striding Sliders will be lined up in the corrals by 7 am on race day; if you are facing the starting line, you’ll find them on the right-hand side of the street with signs and balloons denoting their time. Look for more information about this year’s Sliding Striders in your Final Instructions email on Monday of race week!

Been using Pico Image for a while now for resizing and compressing images. It runs entirely in the browser so nothing gets uploaded to a server, which I find reassuring. Background removal works pretty well too, saves me from opening heavier software for simple tasks.
