Tip #4: Where to "Go"

Updated: Sep 26, 2022

Welcome back to our annual “26 Tips for 26.2 Miles” blog series. For the 26 days leading up to race day, athletes and spectators can get daily tips to make the most of OUR race. Stay tuned for tips on parking and food, cool viewing spots and race rules, and answers to all your pressing race day questions. We are here to help you make the most of your 2022 Nationwide Children’s Hospital Columbus Marathon & ½ Marathon experience! Let’s go!

Today’s tip will help alleviate all your porta potty problems as you head onto the 13.1-mile or the 26.2-mile course. There will be more than 500 portable restrooms available throughout the start and finish areas and along the courses, so you’re bound to find one. And remember, if the bathroom lines are long, go a little farther and you will find more bathrooms with no lines.

  • We’ve got you covered before the race! There will be portable bathrooms in ALL “Athlete-Only” starting corrals!

  • Portable bathrooms also are located just past every fluid station on the course. Check out the course maps for the ½ Marathon and Marathon.

Race Director Darris Blackford shared some words of wisdom to help make your bathroom break even better! Check out the video here that he’s featured in as part of our Friday Training Talks.

Have additional questions about restrooms? Let us know in the comments below, or share with us on Facebook and Instagram, and we’ll be sure to get them answered!
