18-week training video series

#9 What if I, well, you know, need to go to the bathroom during the race?

Training Talk Video #9 is LIVE and this week, OUR Race Director, Darris Blackford, talks about what to do when you “gotta go” during the race.

Check out Darris’ video below!

You know it’s true—if you don’t use the restroom during the race, you’re going to be thinking about it the whole time and feel uncomfortable. Worse yet, it could impact your pace and performance. For most of us, the few seconds or minutes we might lose in the bathroom are fewer than those we’d lose adjusting our pace due to being uncomfortable.

You might be thinking “But what if there’s not a bathroom near me during the race?”

Don’t worry! With 500 portable restrooms at the start line and additional units after each fluid station and along the course, you’re bound to find one. Also, restrooms are located in each of the starting corrals, so we’ve got you covered before the race too!

Going to the restroom during the race doesn’t have to be weird. As Darris said “It’s best to find a restroom, take care of business and move on!”

Thanks for watching and stay tuned for next week’s video!
