#11 What do you think is the best way to run the Columbus Marathon course?

Training Talk Video #11 is LIVE and this week current board member and 108-time marathon finisher Bill Burns shares the best way to run the Columbus Marathon course.

Bill recommends running “even effort,” meaning you give up a little bit of time going up the hills, but you make up that time going down the hills. Learn more about this strategy in the video below!

To recap, Bill also suggests that you not worry about the splits at the beginning of the course. Instead, take the first few miles to collect yourself and set yourself up for a successful race. This means taking time to get your breathing right, your heart rate set, and your stride coordinated – basically (and literally) putting your best foot forward.

What do you think is the best way to run the Columbus Marathon? Please put any of your recommendations and tips in the comments below.

Thanks for watching and stay tuned for next week’s video!
