The Columbus Marathon partners with the following training groups that will make your training fun and memorable, instead of a solitary struggle.
Marathoner In Training
You've always wanted to run or walk a half or full marathon, but didn't know where to start? Here's a program that will teach you about running/walking in cool/cold weather, nutrition, goal setting, how to avoid injury, pacing, and much more. Fleet Feet Sports offers this program to train first-time and veteran marathoners to run/walk the Columbus Marathon through the Marathoner-in-Training Program! Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Team In Training
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Team In Training program is the largest endurance sports training program in the world. With the help over a half a million runners, walkers, triathletes, cyclists and hikers – TNT has raised over $1.3 billion for life saving cancer research therapies that are saving lives today. Columbus Eastside Running Club
Columbus Eastside Running Club offers half and full marathon training to new and experienced runners. CERC meets in Bexley and Gahanna for group runs. Supported by Second Sole Gahanna participants get hands on training in a relaxed and enjoyable environment. A portion of the proceeds are designated to local charities. FrontRunner Training Group welcomes runners/walkers of all abilities. Whether you are new to running/walking, or an experienced competitor, we have a group for you. Our mentors are experienced athletes who collectively have completed hundreds of marathons. We strive to make training a fun and exciting experience in a non-intimidating, family-friendly environment. Only a limited number of new memberships are available, so act fast. Team Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC)
Over 3,500 children and families served at Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Ohio each year are facing some of the toughest challenges of their lives—they are running their own marathons as they fight disease, illness and injury. However, RMHC of Central Ohio is there to provide strength and support to get them through the toughest of times. Team RMHC is a part of this living support system. We run to show RMHC of Central Ohio families that there is strength in numbers—strength in a team of runners passionately raising funds, awareness and advocacy for the Charity. As we train for and run 13.1 or 26.2 miles on October 18th, we offer hope, inspiration and compassion for Ronald McDonald House families. Columbus Running Company
Join the Columbus Running Company's fall half and full marathon training group. We’re here to help you become one of the many to reach your personal goals this coming autumn as you finish the 13.1 or 26.2 mile distance. We offer beginner and intermediate training plan options for free through the CRC Training Program. If you’re looking for more customization, the Starting Line personalized training program might be for you. Everyone comes together for the long runs on Saturdays with the Columbus Running Club, and even track work for those interested.

Run Fit Running Club
Run Fit Running and Walking Club is a member-led, community-driven, non-profit club that promotes running, fitness, and healthy living. We are family-friendly and have workouts that support fitness whether you are a runner or not. Our RRCA / USATF certified running coaches and certified fitness trainers provide free group training programs for all distances from 5k to the marathon. We also partner with area physical therapists, sports medicine professionals and nutritionists to provide frequent health and wellness clinics and special events. Black Girls Run!
Black Girls RUN! is a national organization with more than 65 chapters. The Columbus group has been going strong for more than a year. We welcome walkers and runners of all abilities. We exist to encourage black women to become and remain active, and we welcome EVERYONE who supports that mission! For many of our members, the Nationwide Children's Hospital Columbus Marathon will be their first full marathon. Many more of us will be there cheering them on and running the 1/2 Marathon. The Columbus Roadrunners Club (CRRC) is a non-profit organization with the purpose of promoting and encouraging running at all levels. Founded in 1975, the Club is the oldest club in central Ohio. It is a member of the Roadrunners Club of America (RRCA). CRRC members participate as runners, volunteers, and planners in a variety of events throughout the year. Walk With A Doc
Walk with a Doc wants you to join us in staying active. We will provide breakfast food, coffee, water, RN blood pressure checks, motivational medical advice and tips, and the opportunity to ask our physicians any burning questions you may have -- all free. Step And Stride
This unique all-walking company provides walking events, a weekly spring and fall walking club, training programs, speakers, valuable partnerships and support to walkers. Step and Stride is focused on all levels of walkers from the beginner to the competitor, and will help you recognize the benefits of walking for fitness, health, socialization and fun. RISE Run Club
One of our passions is working with ordinary people with extraordinary goals. RISE Fitness Community's half and full marathon training program is designed for those contemplating training for their first half marathon, full marathon, or for an athlete looking to PR. We plan 3 runs each week as well as 2 cross training days. The 3 runs are focused on quality, speed, and building endurance. Each week our participants receive a newsletter with pertinent training information and guidance that help them train well, fuel well, and cross the finish line at their best. We also have group runs planned for Saturday mornings. Even though there are so many value-adds to this program, we have found that the camaraderie and accountability are by far the most rewarding part.

New Albany Walking Club
The New Albany Walking Club was founded in 2003 for the purpose of promoting health through walking. The physical, mental, and social benefits derived from group workouts serve to motivate the many women and men who join the regularly scheduled group walks. New Albany Walking Club members meet every Sunday morning at 7:30 AM. to walk along the beautiful roads and walking and bike trails throughout the New Albany community. Members walk from distances of three miles to as many as twenty-three miles depending on whether or not they are training for competition. Membership to the New Albany Walking Club is open to individuals who wish to walk with us regardless of where they reside. We welcome walkers of all abilities. Grove City Community Running and Walking Club
Grove City Community Running and Walking Club was founded in 2014 by a group of individuals who recognized the need for an all-inclusive running group within the Grove City community. The club has grown from 7-10 dedicated members to roughly 25-30 active members at any given time. This group focuses on friendship, encouragement and of course running and walking.
We have members who have competed in ultra-marathons, trail races, marathons, half marathons as well as 5 and 10Ks.
Columbus Westside Running Club
Columbus Westside Running Club is a free non-profit running/walking club whose mission is to improve community health and wellness through education, communication, and encouragement. We seek to engage residents on the entire southwest side of Columbus, especially those within the Greater Hilltop and its newly opened Camp Chase Trail segment. CWRC supports members from speed walkers to Boston Qualifiers with weekly Tuesday PM and Saturday AM group runs.
Partnered with Sports Medicine at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and Columbus Running Company, CWRC offers free training plans for various race distances, including the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Marathon.
