Runners
The Nationwide Better Health Columbus Marathon run starts at the intersection of Broad and High Streets in downtown Columbus at 7:30 a.m. for walkers and runners (note: this is a new starting time!). The course will be open until 3:00 p.m. Awards will be presented to winners from different age groups (top three overall in the marathon and ½ marathon and top three in each age group). The total Nationwide Better Health Columbus Marathon field (marathon and ½ marathon) will have a ceiling of 11,500 participants.
Boston Qualifiers
The road to the Boston runs through Columbus.
Last year, approximately 15 percent of the field qualified for the Boston Marathon – making the Nationwide Better Health Columbus Marathon one of the top five marathons in the United States (per capita) to send qualifiers to Boston.
Wheelchair Racers
The Nationwide Better Health Columbus Marathon is one of the nation's top chair racing
marathons, constantly drawing exciting races. Wheelchair participants only participate
in the marathon as there is no ½ marathon division.
