That's Right, A New Website!
| |
|
During "RunFest" we officially unveiled the new website of the Nationwide Better Health Columbus Marathon. It’s nice and clean and features our new logo that was created with the help of our artistic friends from Nationwide Better Health. Speaking of our new logo, you will also see it on your 2010 finisher's medals and race shirts – and you can even get “In Training” shirts with the new logo at our online store!

Blog Buildup! | | |

|
We are honored to have several folks offering advice and insight in blogs on our website, and we would like to welcome our newest guest writer -- Dr. Darrin Bright! Dr. Bright is our Medical Director, as well as an acomplished marathoner and ultra runner. He was also recently rated the #1 doctor in sports medicine in Central Ohio on the Docs Rate Docs survey conducted by WBNS-10TV and The Columbus Dispatch. We are extremely proud of Dr. Bright and the care he and his team provide our athletes on race day. Click here to see what he and other bloggers have to say!

Charity Groups - We Love 'Em!
| |
|
People taking part in the Nationwide Better Health Columbus Marathon & ½ Marathon to raise money and awareness for charity is nothing new. This year we are proud to welcome two new groups -- the American Cancer Society's DetermiNation program and the Komen Columbus Marathon for the Cure team. Following is a comprehensive list of our charitable training groups:
Each of the charitable groups on the list has different goals and ways they raise money and awareness toward their respective causes, but all are focused on doing good, one step at a time. Training for and completing a marathon or 1/2 marathon is a satisfying accomplishment, but there is certainly something to be gained by achieving this milestone while helping others, and we salute all who take part in these efforts! Check out our charity group page here.

Ronald McDonald House Charities Joining The Fun!
| |
|
Having a child in the hospital is tough on any family. Being far from home makes it worse. The Ronald McDonald House of Central Ohio is the second largest of its kind in the world, and is designed to ease this burden for families and facilitate family-centered care for their children. We are proud to welcome Ronald McDonald House Charities as a special friend of the Nationwide Better Health Columbus Marathon & 1/2 Marathon! At the race expo you will be among the first to see the organization's brand new Ronald McDonald Care Mobile, a traveling pediatric clinic that will help provide access to healthcare for underserved children. On race day, there will be a special RMHC cheer zone full of people cheering you on! These and other things are planned for the start of a great partnership!
