As one of the oldest running events in the Buckeye State , the Nationwide Better Health Columbus Marathon & 1/2 Marathon has had its share of participants over the years: More than 150,000! If you have ever taken part in any of our events, thank you for helping us achieve this success. And if 2009 will be your first time taking to the streets of Columbus and neighboring communities with us, we look forward to you being a part of this great, 30th anniversary weekend!

Route Rocks!

Last year we made some key changes to the route followed by runners in the Nationwide Better Health Columbus Marathon & ½ Marathon , and we received lots of favorable comments. In 2009 the route will be virtually the same, affording you a great running or walking tour of areas that help make Central Ohio great! And with some neighborhoods now being part of the race course for a second year, we expect great crowds and excitement all along the way!

Running a marathon or ½ marathon is certainly a physical challenge, but we all know that such endeavors are also mentally taxing. Some say it is 50 percent physical, and 90 percent mental. With that in mind, so to speak, we try to take your mind off of the running by providing a slate of entertainment all along the race course! If you joined us last year, who can forget stepping across the starting line to the huge, thundering sounds of music blaring down upon the crowd? And at seemingly every turn along our 13.1 and 26.2 mile courses we have bands playing for you! Rock On!
